The Impact of God on life
God is at work in our lives; He transforms our situations. As we walk with Him through life He brings a new dynamic which makes a new kind of sense to life. To some degree these things just happen when a person receives Jesus into their lives, the fullness however is worked out as we engage with God in the challenges of life.
The dynamics of this life begin with what life is all about. There is a whole new dimension that is worked out as we develop trust in God that He intervenes in life in order to develop His love in us. As we begin to understand this new dynamic has a huge impact on the way we live for our use of time and money are driven by our priorities. Dynamics of True Life.
The dynamic of our relationship with God through trust is lived out in faith. Many have a view of faith as trying to summon up belief in impossible things. Faith however is all about trusting God that He will do what He has promised. We are confident of this, not because it looks likely, but because it is done by almighty God. Faith - Trust.
This kind of faith is hard to seet in theory. Much better to see how people have lived it out. The very nature of faith is that it can look a little strange to those people who are not living out some promise of God. The Bible is full of instances where people have taken up the challenge and seen Go come through, you are invited to join them! Faith lived out.
Just as there are times when God has given promises that we cling to, there are other times when He is silent. These can be the most disconcerting. It may be that things are going wrong and we have no idea what it is that God wants us to do in this situation. In these position we have confidence that God will live up to His character. We can trust Him to intervene at the appropriate time, and so we live in hope.
Since God is all powerful and created the universe, we can trust Him that He is enough for every situation. In this confidence, however scary the world out there might look, we can trust Him that in His goodness He will come through for us, so we can live in peace.
As we live out this dynamic of life with God, so we experience Him working through us. We are free and empowered to live the life of love that He has designed us for. We are not on our own, He guides us into the path of life that is good and where we will encounter His great blessing. Guidance
The blessings that the Lord leads us into are very curious. There is as it were a law of opposites. Jesus says, blessed are the poor in Spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Those who are the most needy are the ones who realise their need and call out to God, so they are the ones who receive the greatest blessing. This fact is an encouragement to those in need to cry out; it is also a challenge to those who do not see their need to open their eyes. Blessed are the poor.
We live in an environment where many fill the emptiness of their lives with stuff to help therm through the pain of life. Many of these things are addictive in some way. It may not be chemically, but addictive none the less. The Lord challenges us to let go of these props and turn in dependence on Him, the one who really satisfies.
