These pages are designed for use to aid discipleship among Christians through individual Bible study, Cell groups, Home groups, or for meeting one to one. If you wish, you could use the questions, while leaving the group to choose their own translation of the Bible.

Doubts about faith are common. Doubts are especially common for those young in faith. They are not to be concerned or guilty about. To doubt is not a sin, indeed the book of Job is about a man who though strong in faith is brought to a place of questioning God through suffering. The Lord does not rebuke him, but rather brings him through his difficulties to a place of more mature faith.
For the mature, difficulties in faith are rare. They have come to a deep relationship with God that to suggest that He does not exist would be the equivalent of having a scientist prove that your parents do not exist. It does not tie in with a depth of experience. It might happen, but it needs an incredible degree of pain to bring a person to this place.
For the younger in faith things are more tentative. One cannot trust someone unless first convinced in the heart and mind.
Jesus’ response to those who wanted clear cut evidence based proofs that He was indeed the Son of God is found in John 7:17 NIV
“If anyone chooses to do God’s will he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.”
It is in living the life that Jesus sets before us that we come to assurance that He is real. It is impossible to live His way without becoming exposed to risk and danger. In that place of risk, we call out to Him for help and see His intervention. The reality of His intervention has far greater impact than any intellectual argument.
