Enjoy Oneself The highest value

Some years ago I was doing some private research among students about what they believed.  What I found amazing was that there was a very similar thread through all the thinking, but that each person thought that they were unique in holding that view.  It took me some time to piece it all together, but the outcome is in this illustration, which I commend to you.

The Key Value

The highest value of our day, is to enjoy oneself.  This is the measure by which all is evaluated as worth while.

Since the highest value for each of us is to enjoy ourselves, so that value is extended to others.  Not only is it right for me to enjoy myself, but I must make room for others to enjoy themselves, since that must be their highest value as well..

This value can be seen not just in the great desire in our culture for experience and entertainment, it can also be seen in the evaluation of choices that seem a little strange - “so long as you are enjoying yourself, that is fine.”
